“The 39-year-old woman published an ad online asking to help find a lost Kurilian bobtail. Several hours later, she received a call from an unidentified man, who said he found the cat and asked her to make a transfer of 4,000 rubles to a mobile phone number,” the press service of the Penza region Ministry of the Interior department informed PenzaNews.

Even though the woman followed up on the request, she did not have the cat returned back to her, they added.
