Penza, 15 July 2016. PenzaNews. Punishment in the form of 6.5-year imprisonment in a correctional colony of strict regime was imposed to a 27-year-old ex-convict Penza resident, who was found guilty of committing a robbery with beatin.

“The investigation and the court found that in the evening of 2 November 2015, near one of the houses on Chkalova street the attacker came up to a 15-year-old teenager, who was walking with a dog, and beat him in the head with a metal pipe with a length of over 50 centimeters. The boy fell down. After that, the attacker beat him several more times, openly stole a mobile phone and fled the scene. As a result, the injured suffered physical harm of medium gravity,” Lyudmila Fomina, senior assistant of the head of the regional Investigative Committee for media relations, told PenzaNews. 

She said that the boy told his parents about the incident immediately after it happened and they turned to law-enforcement authorities.

“It should be noted that the victim described the attacker in detail. Investigators identified the person, and after that he was charged with robbery with beating,” the agency interlocutor added.

Lyudmila Fomina noted that the verdict is not yet in force.
