“Tamara Mikhaylovna [Melnikova] began her work record as a Russian language teacher in the Kolyshley area school, then a kindergarten teacher, and then connected her life with the ‘Tarkhany’ State Museum-Reserve since 1968,” reminded the Penza region Legislative Assembly chairman Valery Lidin, adding that Tamara Melnikova has remained the director of the cultural institution since 1977 and turned it into the crucial landmark of the region.

As the speaker reminded, the director of “Tarkhany” received a number of state and regional awards, including the Russian state award in June 2015, presented by the Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kremlin.

As a result, the deputies supported the motion unanimously.

Valery Lidin proposed to present Tamara Melnikova the Honorary Citizen sign during the Lermontov poetry festival on July 2.
