Penza, 7 October 2014. PenzaNews. Penza region governor Vasily Bochkarev promised the directors of “Pekof” production and trade company, CJSC, to promote their production in several foreign countries that he plans to visit.

Moreover, during the visit to the production line that took place on Tuesday, October 7, the head of the region offered the company directors to organize sales exhibitions during the federal-level trade events.

Currently, “Pekof” is creating more than 300 models of leather accessories, such as women’s bags from artificial and natural leather and textile, toiletry cases, men’s bags and belts.

Each year, the company introduces above 90 new models into the production.

According to the firm’s general director Nadezhda Ulyanova, the company has upgraded the sewing equipment throughout the last 5 years and replaced manual labor with machinery.

“Only the leather currying press reminds one of the former production conditions,” she said.

Nadezhda Ulyanova also told the governor that the main problem for the production is the fact that they have to import raw materials.

She explained that the Chinese workhouses sell new materials only after making enough goods on their own to oversaturate the Russian market.

According to the press service of the regional government, the head of the region advised her to find a better approach to solving the raw materials issue, and evaluate the marketing aspects.
