Penza region shows low milk, sugar, bread, rice prices

Penza, 20 May 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza region has shown the lowest prices for milk, granulated sugar, bread and rice in the Volga Federal District, the press service of the regional Agriculture Ministry informed PenzaNews.

According to the ministry, a liter of 2.5-3.2% whole UHT milk costs 52.44 rubles in the region, while granulated sugar costs 44.53 rubles per kg.
“Moreover, we have minimal prices for bread and 1-2 grade wheat flour goods (at 33.82 rubles per kg), as well as milled rice (47.55 rubles),” they explained.
According to the press service, the Penza region has no peaking food prices in the VFD and remains in the middle of the average price range.
“The region demonstrates a decline in prices for pork (-1.67%), except for boneless meat; unprocessed frozen fish (-0.36%); butter (-0.2%); 2-5.3.2% whole pasteurized milk (-0.23%); eggs (-5.16%); granulated sugar (-0.36%); black tea (-0.42%); wheat flour (-0.32%); milled rice (-1.35%); fresh tomatoes (-8.37%); and cucumbers (-9.41%),” the Agriculture Ministry added.
Moreover, compared to 2015 year-to-year, the region has experienced notable decreases in vegetable prices: -41% for potatoes, -61.1% for cabbages, -61.9% for onions, and -69.5% for carrots.
