As the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Elena Modyakova told news agency “PenzaNews,” the incident occurred last Thursday, May 30.

“The casings were discovered with the help of X-ray digital equipment “Introscope” during the pre-flight inspection for Penza-Domodedovo flight. A man, born 1976, a citizen of Finland, explained that those were training grenades. According to him, he received them as a gift from Penza residents,” the press secretary explained.

She added that currently the casings are being examined to determine whether they are components of an explosive device.
