Penza, 16 April 2014. PenzaNews. Criminal investigation into the murder of a 81- year-old woman in an apartment in Burovaya Street in Penza on February 23, 2014, completed.

The accused is the woman's 51-year-old son who has been repeatedly brought to criminal responsibility.

“According to the investigation, in the evening on February 23, the man, while intoxicated, took a knife intending to kill his mother and came to his parents' house. Seeing the woman on the bed, he struck the victim at least eight times in the neck and body. The pensioner died on the spot. After that, the man called a police precinct and told about the crime,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, Media relations, Lyudmila Fomina told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She added that, according to the defendant, after the celebration of the Defender of the Fatherland Day, he remembered his childhood grudge against his mother, who was not involved in his upbringing and often punished him.

“Currently, the investigators collected sufficient evidence, based on which a criminal case with the confirmation of the indictment has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits,” the agency interlocutor summed up.
