Penza, 24 April 2014. PenzaNews. Approximately 500 students and 46 teachers were evacuated from the three-floor building of school number 75 on Teplichnaya street in Penza on Thursday, April 24.

“The smoke warning came to the office on duty at 11:28, and seven water tank trucks and support equipment were directed to the emergency site at once. Investigation showed that old window frames, located within the area of 1 sq. meter under the staircase, caught fire. The fire was contained within the timespan of two minutes,” Anna Shupilova, head of information and public relations division of the main department of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region, told PenzaNews agency.

She specified that nobody was harmed in the incident.

“The investigators are currently working on the area, and the building was secured by the police,” the agency interlocutor added.
