Penza, 25 July 2014. PenzaNews. A “Ford Focus” car became an unwitting hostage of a deep hole, which appeared because of a water pipe rupture in Krivozerye Street in Penza on Friday morning, July 25.

The incident took place about 200 meters away from the building of LLC “Gorvodokanal.” According to the “Gorvodokanal” specialist who was present at the accident scene, the company brigade was ordered to arrive promptly to deal with the cause.

The driver of the car caught in limbo told news agency PenzaNews that there were no road signs warning of repair work on the driveway.

“I was driving slowly along the road. The only thing I saw was a considerably small puddle. Then, all at once half of the car went underground. I get out, and what I see? The wheel, the bumper — all under the water. All the oil leaked out. The engine is probably damaged. I will find out what is actually wrong once I get the car out of here,” the man said.

He added that he intends to sue the road services in order to recover the financial and moral damages.

Currently, the traffic police officers are working on the site of the accident.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, a deep hole appeared in the center of Penza on the driveway near the intersection of Moskovakaya and Suvorova streets on Friday morning, July 18.

The hole was approximately 2 by 2 meters wide, and 1.5-2 meters deep. Warning singes were placed around the area.

At night on Monday, July 21, two new holes appeared nearby, and they filled up with water. Water also reached and filled the basement of the house No. 104 in Moskovskaya Street.
