As one of the passengers, who was in the bus during the collision, told news agency “PenzaNews,” the bus was carrying no less than 10 people.

“It is most likely that the bus brakes failed when it was going down Zakharova Street. The bus did not stop at the Pension Fund, as usual, but ran down at high speed. Luckily, there was no oncoming traffic. Then the bus rammed into a road sign and drove into the bushes. At some point it seemed that the bus would turn over, but stayed upright,” the agency interlocutor said.

He added that after the incident, most of the passengers left the bus when recovered from shock, and went on to where they were heading.

“One woman hit onto a metal rack. She was sitting and the hit threw her forward. She hurt her back, and they took her to the hospital,” the passenger said.

Currently, traffic police are investigating all the circumstances of the incident at the site.
