Penza, 14 August 2014. PenzaNews. Pilot who was brought to intensive medical care after a helicopter crash near Pioner village, Kuznetsky area, the Penza region on Wednesday, August 13, had symptoms of alcohol intoxication, Dmitry Zakharov, the Senior Assistant of Volga Investigation Department on transport told news agency “PenzaNews.”

“Due to the signs of intoxication — the smell of alcohol and rambling — he was asked to undergo a medical examination, which he refused to do,” the agency interlocutor said.

He added that the investigators and criminologists are still working on the emergency landing site, where a five-sea “Robinson” helicopter crashed into the swamp.

“We are conducting a series of investigations in order to determine all the details of the accident. Witness surveys are ongoing, medical research is conducted. In the near future forensic examination will be appointed,” Dmitry Zakharov said.

He also said that today they plan to pull the helicopter out of the swamp.

“The crash Experts of IAC joined the investigation of the crash,” the agency interlocutor said.

He noted that the findings on the causes of the crash, as well as the guilt of certain individuals can be made only after the entire complex investigative and legal proceedings.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, the helicopter belonging to the Moscow firm “Barkol” flew over the pipeline in Kuznetsky area, the Penza region to its examination on Wednesday, August 13.
