Penza pensioner beaten by aggressive taxi passenger dies

Penza, 1 October 2014. PenzaNews. A 66-year-old man, suffered in a traffic incident in Zarechny, the Penza region in early September, died of injuries in hospital.
According to Zarechye Segodnya newspaper, the pensioner made a remark to a woman-driver, who nearly provoked an accident, and was attacked by a 40-year-old passenger of the vehicle. As a result, the pensioner was taken to the intensive care unit of the hospital in Penza with traumatic brain injury and a fractured skull.
The man died without rallying from the coma.
Currently, a criminal case was instituted on the incident.
As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, in September, the law enforcement agencies of Zarechny received a report from a woman about an unknown who beat an elderly man and fled by car.
Police officers who arrived on the scene found out that during the conflict with the woman-driver, the pensioner was seriously injured. Later the offender was found — a 40-year-old local resident, previously held criminally responsible. He was interrogated and confessed to the crime.
