Zarechny resident stands trial for trying to buy “spy” pen

Penza, 7 October 2014. PenzaNews. A 27-year-old resident of Zarechny, the Penza region is accused of trying to purchase special technical means designed to obtain information secretly.

“According to the investigation, in April 2014 the man ordered a pen with built-in video camera and microphone in an online-shop and paid with a bank transfer. On May 30, at post office he received a package with the special technical device, and was detained by the officers of the regional department of the Federal Security Service of Russia,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, told PenzaNews agency.

She said that at present sufficient evidence has been collected, and after the indictment is confirmed, the criminal case will be sent to the court for the review.
