Penza, 23 January 2015. PenzaNews. The police have initiated a criminal case on grievous harm resulting in death after locating skeletal human remains in the basement of an apartment building on Mira street.

“In January 2015, we have received a report from a local woman who said a man who had been living with her beaten up a 63-year old man, living in an adjacent flat, to death, then dismembered him and hid in the basement on Mira street,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the city Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, told PenzaNews agency.

According to her, the police were immediately dispatched to the location.

“We indeed have found the human remains dug in the ground,” said the agency interlocutor.

Lyudmila Fomina said the officials immediately arrested a 41-year old resident of the Penza region.

“We are currently gathering evidence in order to identify the person using court and DNA analysis,” she explained.
