Penza, 16 June 2015. PenzaNews. The police began an investigation process after bodies of two young boys, 9 and 12, were found in the pond by Serp I Molot village in the Penza region.

“The police received a report on Tuesday, June 16, that two boys, born in 2002 and 2005 respectively, residents of Serp I Molot village of the Penza area, had gone missing. We have established that the children went for a walk at about 16.00 of June 15 with their parents’ permission, after which they did not return back home. The parents went searching for the boys on their own until dark, and then contacted the police,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the city Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, told PenzaNews agency.

The search mission located the personal items of the lost children on the pond shore, she added.

“Later on, the body of the 12-year-old boy was found on water body surface without apparent injuries. The body of the 9-year-old boy was found shortly after. According to preliminary results, the children drowned,” the speaker said.
