Penza, 28 September 2015. PenzaNews. A Penza citizen, 26, lost 8,800 rubles to scammers while trying to sell car wheel rims online.

“The man published a sales ad on Avito.ru website. Two hours later, he received a phonecall from an unidentified person who said he wishes to buy the goods, but needs the seller’s credit card info for the transfer,” the press service of the regional Ministry of the Interior department told PenzaNews agency.

The seller complied with the request, and learned shortly after that he lost money from his account, they continued.

“The unidentified person called from a number registered in a different city,” the police added.
