Penza, 23 May 2016. PenzaNews. A SsangYong off-roader has hit a young woman when she was crossing a street in the Penza city center on Kirova street.

The victim was hospitalized: so far, there is no additional information available on her status.

As the witnesses told PenzaNews, the off-roader was moving straight forward, and the driver most likely did not notice the pedestrians crossing the street. The hit caused the car to veer towards the sidewalk and do an U-turn, resulting in a torn wheel likely caused by a curbstone hit.

The traffic police is yet to establish the details of the incident.

According to information available from certain eyewitnesses, a group of pedestrians allegedly crossed the road under a red light, while the off-roader was moving quickly enough to not be able to come to a halt before the hit.
