IT-lab 2016 best projects announced in Penza

Penza, 13 August 2016. PenzaNews. The results of the fourth IT-lab in which for a month students and beginner specialists under the guidance of experienced professionals developed their projects, were announced in the youth business incubator of Penza on Friday evening, August 12.

Before the official part, an exhibition of eight projects was organized in the lobby.

Visitors had an opportunity to learn more about the application for playing Internet radio stations “Yo! Tuner,” a professional portal for specialized community “VOiGO,” an online application for the checkers “Chekers play,” the distributed database “H2O,” multiplayer game “Worms army,” the app to search for users with similar interests “FLI,” the app – sports controller “Sports motivator,” and the robot for teaching programming — floor plotter.

Among the visitors were deputy chairman of the Penza region government Valery Bespalov and the regional Minister of Education Alexander Voronkov. They actively asked questions to the IT-lab participants and tested the inventions.

The two officials spent some time at the online app for checkers “Chekers play,” and tried to play a game.

Then the guests moved to the hall, where they announced results of the educational project which brought together companies of the regional IT-Cluster.

Addressing the audience, Valery Bespalov expressed hope that the main result of the IT-lab will be employment of the majority of participants, and birth of new business ideas.

“I really hope that all of you will be very successful, wealthy people. Best wishes of health and success to you,” he said.

In turn, deputy Minister of Education of the region Anatoly Kazeev drew attention to the experience gained by the project participants, which, according to him, will make them “bigger people.”

“I mean masters of their profession — promising and fortunate,” he added.

Then the lab students presented their projects and answered questions, after which the winners were named.

The “Best Startup” category noted the developers team of professional portal for specialized community “VOiGO,” and the app to search for users with similar interests “FLI.”

Best technology projects became the distributed database “H2O” and the floor plotter.

IT-lab is an education project, organized by Secon association of software developers and JSC Center of Cluster Development with the support of the Ministry of Industry of the Penza region.

It is a kind of start-up projects’ factory where the projects develop from idea to a virtually finished product.

In 2016, 34 students and young professionals in the field of software, graphic design, marketing and promotion of IT-products took part in the project. They worked on the development of eight projects. The implementation of their ideas was supervised by senior advisers and leading specialists of the field.

It is expected that the participants of the lab will be able to get a job in one of the Penza IT-companies.
