Penza, 15 July 2014. PenzaNews. The acting vice governor of the Penza region Viktor Rubtsov, who was also the deputy chairman of the competition committee that examined the documents of the candidates for Penza mayor’s seat, said he was surprised not by the passivity of the citizens, but by the lack of actions from the “so-called parliamentary parties.”

“Not even a single attempt to nominate a candidate came from those well-known parties! I absolutely do not understand then why they shower the citizens with all this criticism and constant claims that everything is foregone, nothing can be changed, everything is bad and will get worse?” Viktor Rubtsov wrote in his LiveJournal on Tuesday afternoon, July 15.

He noted that the competition for the position of the head of administration of Penza was a good chance for those who are really concerned about city problems and know the solutions to get into power, or at least try to do it.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, the competition for the position of the head of administration of the city will be closed to the media.

The post of the head of Penza administration had originally been claimed by four people, but one candidate was dismissed after the second organizational meeting of the competition committee.

The dismissed candidate turned out to be Yuri Voblikov, the regionally famous human rights activist who intended to “hit hands of the hooligans.”

On the morning of Tuesday, July 15, shortly before the competition for the position of Penza mayor, the names of the three candidates were revealed. They are the chairman of the government of the Penza region Yuri Krivov, the deputy director general of “Compass Finance” Alexander Frolenkov and the deputy director general of “Penzalift” Vladimir Belyakin.

Candidacy of the last challenger was not supported by the members of the competition committee.

The meeting of the committee was closed to the media.

Candidacies of Vladimir Belyakin and Yuri Krivov will be considered during the 64th extraordinary session of the City Duma next Friday, July 18.
