“This morning, I found some kind of white viscous liquid on the driver’s side of my car. I grew hot over that inwardly, but went to work. When I got out of the car near the office, I saw that the liquid is poured all over the hood of the car, especially on the trunk. It burned through the paint and the headlights, in some places I could hear it sizzle. One of my colleagues said it was acid, and I immediately called the police,” Anastasia Koptelova told news agency “PenzaNews.”
She added that the law enforcement officers arrived took samples of an unknown liquid.
“They confirmed that it is an acid, but did not specify which one: it will be known after the test. I reported the incident to the appropriate authorities, including the FSB. Officers of the Criminal Investigation and the department on extremism combat have already gotten in contact with me. The police are investigating to establish the culprits — question the neighbors, looking for dashcam recordings. The damages will be calculated tomorrow,” the politician explained.
According to her, the incident with the car may be linked to the upcoming elections in Penza City Duma, since Anton Ishchenko is officially registered as a candidate.
“Judging by the traces, it seems that someone was walking around pouring acid on the car. Such things do not happen without any reason shortly before the election. I think this is due to the election campaign,” Anastasia Koptelova said.
The press service of the regional branch of the Liberal Democratic Party of Penza has not yet commented on the incident.
