“We believe that the purpose of the crime was to cause damage to property and health of a member of the Liberal Democratic Party, and it was committed by our political opponents who brazenly took advantage of their monopoly position in the region. They are extremely concerned about the active operations of our party during the election campaign,” says the official statement posted on the website of the Liberal Democratic Party.

The statement also claims that the Liberal Democratic Party activists will not be intimidated by such acts.

“We will work more actively and demand an impartial investigation of the incident. Penza regional branch of the Liberal Democratic Party has sent a statement to all law enforcement agencies with the requirement to find the culprits. The party will compensate for the damage done to the property of assistant to the deputy of the State Duma,” the statement says.
