Penza, 17 September 2014. PenzaNews. Vasily Bochkarev, Penza region governor and member of the Supreme Council of United Russia, strongly advised the representatives of the ruling party to stop acting against the interests of the people.

“I want to ask all the deputies to stop at all, so to speak, robbing people, robing the ‘house managements’ as they are called today, and do back-alley business. It is inconvenient for the party. I will not mention any names. All of you who rob the city, people, you all know each other. I just promise you that I’ll put you all in the next-year verification program for your businesses, the legality of it, first of all, wages, and affiliated companies. Some of you have neither houses nor homes, but open extravagant constructions on behalf of strangers in the region and the city,” Vasily Bochkarev said during the second stage of XIX Conference of the regional United Russia branch held at the Lermontov regional library on Wednesday, September 17.

He noted that verification process will affect the deputies of the Penza City Duma, as well as the Legislative Assembly.

“Many here are nimble, I know them, those who are racketeering the city authority. [...] I know about it, I have the timely information. Sitting in the dining room here ‘for not much to do’... While all of you have important jobs, you are hanging around in the dining room all day... Start working and stop racketeering,” head of the region demanded.

Vasily Bochkarev also urged the deputies not to think that their illegal actions are shrouded in mysteries.

“Do not think we are blind, see nothing or know almost nothing. Something we might not know, but we will find that out during the inspection. So I am warning you: all the members of the City Duma and the regional Legislative Assembly associated with illegal business will be included in the verification plan for the next year,” the governor promised, explaining at the same time that the control measures will be carried out by the prosecutor’s office, tax services and the investigating authorities.

Vasily Bochkarev also drew attention to the fact that the deputies are using their power and to force the heads of village councils and areas in the issues of land allocation and construction, which is illegal.

“Will pull their legs out and take away the badges,” said the Penza region governor.

He added that “life is different right now.”

“The image of the Penza region now depends not only on the governor, but also on each of you. Let us together create a ‘Saving the Penza region’ project,” the head of the region urged the United Russia members.
