Ivan Belozertsev provided 283 deputy signatures to Penza region election committee

Penza, 28 July 2015. PenzaNews. Ivan Belozertsev, acting governor and leader of the United Russia party branch in Penza, promoted candidate of the aforementioned party for the September 13 gubernatorial election, has submitted the required number of deputy signatures to the regional election committee required to bypass the so-called “municipal filter” and complete his registration as a candidate.

As deputy chairman of the election committee Alexei Klimukhin told PenzaNews agency, Ivan Belozertsev’s trustees Vasily Trokhin and Faina Kurnosova provided the maximum 283 signatures at the minimum of 270.

Earlier, the similar number of signatures was provided by Vladimir Simagin (CPRF), Zhigansha Tuktarov (LDPR), Vladimir Popkov (“Rodina”) and Gennady Yeroshin (“A Just Russia”). Alexander Frolenkov, non-affiliate promoted by “CHESTNO” party, has not provided the signatures yet.

“Ivan Belozertsev provided the information on opening a dedicated election bank account, the documents for three potential candidates to be elected as Federation Council members in case of his success, and a written document saying he owns no bank accounts or valuables abroad and neither owns nor uses any foreign financial services,” the speaker said.

According to Alexei Klimukhin, the list of potential candidates includes the ex-governor of the Penza region, now pensioner Vasily Bochkarev; the chairman of the regional Chamber of Trade and Commerce Vladimir Podobed; and the dean of the Penza State University Alexander Gulyakov.

As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, the promoted candidates will be able to provide the necessary signatures until 6 pm of Wednesay, July 29.

The Penza region election committee will have ten days to check the signatures and the documents provided by the candidates.

Every check will result in an approval or a decline with a reason.

The Penza region gubernatorial election will take place on September 13, with the schedule of preparation procedures announced in June.
