Penza, 5 August 2015. PenzaNews. The chairman of the Penza region election committee Nikolai Taktarov presented the acting regional governor and the secretary of the regional United Russia branch Ivan Belozertsev the documents about his approval on August 5 that confirm his status as a gubernatorial candidate.

“After receiving the document, a candidate may begin a full-fledged election campaign. The media may begin following the candidates as of August 15. The election campaign is currently ongoing without any violations of the election legislation,” Nikolai Taktarov noted.

As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, Vladimir Simagin was the first to register as a gubernatorial election candidate – he received his confirmation on Friday, July 31.

The promoted candidate of LDPR Zhigansha Tuktarov, head of the Liberal Democrats faction at the Penza city Duma, chairman of the charity foundation “Siyanie,” received the second document on the same day.

On Tuesday, August 4, the Penza region election committee registered five more candidates: Ivan Belozertsev, United Russia; Gennady Yeroshin for “A Just Russia”; and Vladimir Popkov for “Rodina.”

The sixth contender, Alexander Frolenkov from “CHESTNO,” was denied participation in the election, as he failed to produce any municipal deputy signatures to bypass the so-called “municipal filter.”
