The secretary of the regional United Russia party branch, acting governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev, candidate for the September 13 Penza region gubernatorial election who holds 86.38% of the vote at the half-protocol intermediate results, thanked the members of his election headquarters for fruitful work.

“I would like to take this opportunity – I believe we’ll meet together many times, perhaps – to thank our headquarters, all colleagues present in this hall. The result is very good, in my opinion. This year, this time, the turnout is high. You see other regions showing 40%, 38%. We are likely to have over 60%. […] And the result is very worthy as well. I think we will have 75%, even though the exit poll showed 81-82%,” the leader of United Russia in Penza pointed out after the end of the Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev select meeting with the party leaders in the evening of Sunday, September 13.
The election campaign of the Penza region involved great work with people – not only in promotion but also discovery of issues troubling the citizens and their swiftest resolution.
“We simply met people, we worked very actively – myself, the headquarters, the trustees. The trustees were chosen from the respected people of Penza and the region, who also traveled, met people, answered the questions. During this election campaign – during the meetings and after them – we tried to make actual steps. And we ended up resolving several suggestions and requests the people addressed to us during the election campaign. This is very valuable, too,” the acting governor stressed.
He also placed particular emphasis on the fact that the election campaign was particularly free of violations.
“We reacted instantly, phoned the necessary authorities, to provide everything necessary to our colleagues-opponents according to the law. I treat them with respect myself – this is the way our joint work has arranged, and they responded in kind,” Ivan Belozertsev said.
In particular, he expressed his gratitude to the Penza region Legislative Assembly chairman Valery Lidin, the regional parliament deputies Vadim Supikov and Ildar Akchurin, the acting head of the governor’s and the regional government staff Larisa Ryabikhina, and other party coworkers.
“The responsibility is very great, of course. An enormous majority trusted us this much, especially with such results. This means the feedback in the work of myself, the regional government and the heads of municipal bodies must be a very effective one. […] I am very thankful to you. Thank you, friends! I never doubted we would win, since I knew that over the course of our lives – working both in the city [of Penza] and the Legislative Assembly – I always supported people of various professions and various fields of work, and people supported me as well. This I saw once more as I was elected for the governor. Thank you,” Ivan Belozertsev concluded.
