A total of 43,864,555 rubles has been gathered for the construction of the Penza cathedral mosque on Pobedy prospekt, announced the board chairman of the charity foundation “Siyanie,” head of the Liberal Democratic Party faction in the Penza city Duma Zhigansha Tuktarov.

“We thank everyone who helped,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Friday, May 13.

At the moment, the construction workers are reinforcing the foundation of the building, finishing the preparations for heating pipelines, and equipping the ritual bath rooms and sanitary facilities.

“Today, we will be holding the joint meeting of the board and the supervisory council of the Tatar heritage development charity fund ‘Siyanie,’ where we will determine the roadmap for construction of the main Penza region mosque and the crowdfunding issues,” he added.
