First class of “Patients' School” for women with breast cancer to be held in Penza

Penza, 22 April 2014. PenzaNews. The first class for women with breast cancer will take place as a part of the educational project “ Patients' School” at the Oncology Center in Penza on Thursday, April 24. As the official representative of noncommercial partnership “Equal right to life” Tatiana Perekatova told news agency “PenzaNews,” this educational event is free of charge.

“Our goal is to talk about how to preserve the woman's health, defeat dangerous pathology in the case of its occurrence, get a guaranteed social and legal protection. The event is open to the relatives of patients who are willing to help their loved ones to cope with a difficult life situation and find the strength to actively fight for their health,” the agency interlocutor explained.

She added that the chief doctor of the Penza Oncology Center Vitaly Serebryakov will address a welcome word to the gathered.

“The report on the rehabilitation of patients diagnosed with breast cancer will be presented by the employee of the surgery department of tumor diagnosis of the research institute named after N. Blokhin Madina Baranova. Associate Professor of “Oncology and X-ray diagnostics” of Ulyanovsk State University Marat Sharafutdinov will cover the basic principles of health and patients' rights to health care and social protection. In addition, a member of the board of trustees of Moscow Research Oncological Institute named after P. Herzen, psychiatrist, clinical psychologist Irina Morkovkina will present her report on the psychological aspects of rehabilitation and therapy of women with breast tumors,” Tatiana Perekatova explained.

According to her, at the end of the lectures, the participants will be able to ask questions to the experts and get recommendations on individual basis.

The event will begin at the conference hall of Penza regional oncologic dispensary at 11.00.

The organizer of the class is interregional public movement “Movement Against Cancer” with the support of non-profit partnership “Equal right to life.”

“Patients' Schools” is one of the informational and educational projects for cancer patients and their families to be implemented in various regions of Russia since 2009.

Classes are held with the participation of experts from leading specialized medical institutions, representatives of health authorities, public organizations, psychologists, lawyers.

Since 2011, “ Patients' School” classes have also been held online.
