As the correspondent of news agency PenzaNews reported from the spot of the communal accident, the driveway is currently being repaired by the specialists of “Gorvodokanal” and emergency services.

The size of one of the holes is approximately 4 by 6 meters. Asphalt and soil collapsed around the manhole 2 meters deep. Water keeps flowing into the hole on the side.

According to the workers, the driveway repair process is delayed due to the fact that it occurred on a site with complex underground utilities: there are electrical cables by the pipes, and the former should not be damaged.

It is expected that the specialists will soon start replacing the sewer header as well, but the work can take up to 36 hours.

Near the site of communal accident — at the entrance of house No. 104 in Moskovskaya Street — a pump was installed to remove sewer water from the basement. It will be entirely drained only when the main repairs are completed.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, a deep hole appeared in the center of Penza on the driveway near the intersection of Moskovakaya and Suvorova streets on Friday morning, July 18.

Its size was about 2 by 2 meters, and the depth about 1,5-2 meters. Later, the hole was filled with rubble.

At night on Monday, July 21, two new more holes appeared nearby, and they filled up with water. Water also reached and filled the basement of the house No. 104 on Moskovskaya Street. Earlier, it was reported that it would be pumped out as soon as possible.
