Penza, 20 August 2014. PenzaNews. Preparatory work for the construction of a perinatal center for 130 patients began at Burdenko Penza regional clinical hospital.

As the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Health told news agency “PenzaNews,” the workers are currently fencing off the construction site.

“Excavation works and the start of construction are scheduled for early September,” the ministry said.

The Ministry of Health in the region explained that the perinatal center will be an ultra-modern maternity hospital, which will house the Center for Family Planning and a microsurgery center, as well as set up all the necessary conditions for intensive and high-tech care.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, a three-party agreement on the financing of the regional healthcare modernization program, which provides for design, construction and commissioning of the perinatal center, was signed between the Penza region government, the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on January 30, 2014.

Following the document, 2,061 million rubles for the construction of the perinatal center will be provided during the years 2014-2016 by Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund of Russia.
