Penza, 26 August 2014. PenzaNews. Penza zoo lion couple Simbo and Dasha, who have not seen the sun for three years, have been transferred into a new spacious open-air cage.

“For three years, the animals had been kept in indoor cramped cages and communicated with each other through the bars. The depressing situation took place due to the prolonged reconstruction,” the zoo administration told news agency “PenzaNews.”

They explained that the new premises for predators are constructed as a modern cage complex.

“The cages are equipped with convenient feeders, wooden paneling for lions’ comfort and reliable lifting gear for opening and closing the metal gates,” the zoo administration said.
