Most Penza region schools to be equipped with CCTV systems by end 2016

Penza, 28 August 2014. PenzaNews. Most of the schools in the Penza region will be equipped with CCTV systems in 2015-2016, said Svetlana Kopeshkina, regional minister of education, at the anti-terrorist commission meeting held in the regional government on Thursday, August 28.

However, she explained that not all schools need these measures.

“There are institution branches that teach 10 people or less. Since the installation of CCTV systems costs around 100-150 thousand rubles, it was decided that such kind of institutions will not be included. At the moment, 20% of educational organizations have already been equipped,” the minister said.

In addition, Svetlana Kopeshkina mentioned other security measures taken in schools before the school year.

“At the moment, 62% of educational organizations are equipped with emergency buttons. Emergency telephones were installed in 38% of institutions, where buttons were unavailable. In 23% of schools, there are private security organizations cooperating with educational organizations. And watchmen are present in each institution, according to staff instructions,” the minister of education of the Penza region informed.
