Festive meetings were held in Penza schools on Knowledge Day on Monday, September 1. The festive event, organized in school No.19, was visited by Yuri Krivov, chief of the city administration, as an honorary guest. He pointed out that Knowledge Day is a national holiday, because many Russians measure time in not only calendar but also school years.

“I wish the first-graders to remember this day, keep it in their minds for all their lives, and I wish the staff to see their school become the center of friendship and cooperation in the name of all good, where the creative mood never goes away,” said the mayor.

Yuri Krivov also wished the school No.19 to become famous not only though individual achievements of students and teachers, but also for its unique social status.

Students of the lyceum for gifted children were visited by Mikhail Kosoy, acting chairman of the Penza region government, who congratulated them with Knowledge Day.

“Every day I see more and more that the knowledge gained in school is a must for me in everyday life and professional work,” he said during the festive event.

Mikhail Kosoy wished the students to pay more attention to their studies, respect their teachers and love their small motherland, for the benefit of which they will work in the future.
