The city residents can choose out of eight options.

Among them, it is proposed to name the area near the two major regional cultural objects Square of Arts, Festivalnaya or Yubileynaya square.

Moreover, the citizens may speak in favor of naming the square after one of the famous people whose life and work were and are related to the Penza region, such as Ivan Mozzhukhin, Anatoly Mariengof, Vladimir Tatlin, Lidia Ruslanova or Alexander Zhemchuzhnikov.

Apart from that, Penza residents can propose their own version of the name.

As of 11.30 on Monday, September 1, 35 people took part in the survey. Most of them — 16 members — voted for “Square of Arts.”

Earlier, this option was also supported by Kirill Zastrozhniy, deputy chief of the department of culture and the archive of the Penza region.

On September 1, 2013, during an action devoted to the thuja alley by the arts college dorm, he noted that it would be logical to name the area near the Philharmonic and the concert hall “Penza” the Square of the 350th Anniversary of Penza or Square of Arts.
