The decision for appointment is a part of the university’s optimization process, the PSU press office representatives told PenzaNews agency.

On September 18, 2014, the Penza State University Academic Board ruled to change the PSU administration and management structure.

According to it, the university will now consist of 6 colleges: Technology, Education, Medical, PE and Sports, Military, and Continuing Education.

Moreover, the new structure allows for two faculties that were not included in the aforementioned colleges: Law, and Economics and Management.

As PenzaNews agency reported before, in 2013, a conflict erupted between the professors and the students. This clash resulted in Stanislav Sivakon, headmaster of the PSU Faculty of Trauma Surgery, Podiatrics and Military and Extreme Medicine, as well as Afanasiy Baulin and Oksana Vorobjeva, leaving their positions as vice-directors of the medical college.
