Penza, 16 October 2014. PenzaNews. The weather forecasters are expecting a cold spell and a mix of snow and rain in the Penza region, which may lead to buildup of black ice on the roads. Because of the potential danger, the traffic police has addressed the drivers with a request to exercise caution and be vigilant.

“The novice drivers should be especially careful, because they do not yet have all the necessary driving skills and usually end up being the victims of traffic accidents when the seasons change. If the weather is bad, it is better to leave the car parked and use municipal transport,” the propaganda department of the office of the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Penza region commented to PenzaNews agency.

The administration also added that the drivers should avoid sudden lane changes and other road maneuvers in autumn-winter season without first ensuring the road is safe.

“The drivers should also pay attention to the front and side distance between the cars, and be especially careful on road crossings and crossroads. The traffic police would also like to ask the pedestrians to look at the approaching cars and see if they are going at a safe speed and distance before crossing the road,” the propaganda department representative said.

According to the forecasts, the temperature in the Penza region will go below 0°С this Sunday, October 19.

October 20 will be marked by snow and rain, along with the temperature of -1…-3°С.

According to the meteorologists, the weather will be warmer the day after. From the next Wednesday, October 22, the weather will be getting colder and colder, and on the night of Friday, October 24, temperature may go as low as -7°С.
