Penza, 25 November 2014. PenzaNews. A Penza citizen was jailed for illegally obtaining maternity capital payments by falsifying birth certificates of two children. She received a suspended prison sentence of two years, with 2-year probation period.

“The investigation established that the woman born in 1975 obtained intentionally falsified birth certificates on two daughters from an unidentified person in March 2013, and brought them to the Penza department of the Pension Fund to file the papers for maternity capital, which was satisfied. Overall, the woman was to receive 408,960 rubles of maternity capital,” Yuliya Makarova, Senior Assistant Attorney of the Penza region in Media Relations, informed PenzaNews agency.

She added that the woman also received 97,622 and 89,997 rubles of subsidies from the Social Department of Penza and the Ministry of Labor of the region respectively.

“The offender has voluntarily refurbished the damages in full after the court found her guilty of attempted large-scale fraud,” explained the agency interlocutor.
