215 mln rubles of equipment for post-car crash recovery transferred to Penza hospital

Penza, 14 January 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza region received 146 units of modern medical equipment worth over 215 million rubles in 2014 under the federal program aimed at improving the organization of medical care to people injured in car accidents.

This is the second time the region takes part in this campaign.

190 million rubles was provided from the federal budget, and 25 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget.

The main volume of the so-called “heavy” equipment was delivered to the Zakharyin emergency hospital – the institution that receives majority of people with car accident injuries, thanks to its tier 1 trauma recovery center.

According to Vyacheslav Kosmachev, chief physician of the hospital, they received 21 units of equipment worth over 84 million rubles.

“This includes a CT scanner, a multifunctional surgical system, a multifunctional ultrasound expert-class machine, and anesthesia and respiratory devices,” he said.

Moreover, the new equipment was also allocated to the Filatov and Burdenko regional hospitals, the Gorodishchensky area hospital, and Kamensky, Serdobsky, Nizhnelomovsky and Kuznetsky inter-district hospitals.

The press service of the regional Ministry of Health told PenzaNews agency that, over 1,700 people injured in road accidents were hospitalized to regional health organizations during 11 months of 2014. 499 of these patients with combined injuries were taken to the Zakharyin hospital.
