Penza, 3 April 2015. PenzaNews. The official opening of the local producers’ fair, which runs under the slogan “Choose Penza products, support local brand,” was held at the “Kollazh” trading center on Friday, April 3.

The fair presents spring collection of demi-season coats, overcoats and jackets. In addition, customers are offered to buy designer-brand leather and fur accessories, stockings, hosiery, and footwear products.

The representatives of the government, as well as heads of Penza clothing and shoe shops attended the opening ceremony.

This expo is a good reason for the regional producers to be proud, noted the head of Penza administration Yuri Krivov.

“We criticize ourselves a lot, and that is right, but in truth the Penza region is a place where in recent years we have implemented a large-scale SME support program,” he said.

In his turn, Vasily Bochkarev, governor of the Penza region, who previously spoke about wearing locally produced shoes and clothes, told the reporters that the region already makes decent goods.

“These coats are tailor-made for women. They are excellent,” he said, adding that some Penza dresses sell well even in France.

Responding to a question about who manages his personal wardrobe, the Penza region governor said that he prefers to choose clothing and shoes himself.

“Sometimes my wife does that. And my daughter chimes in when I do something wrong,” Vasily Bochkarev added.

He acknowledged that in some cases Penza manufacturers are forced to use foreign materials, but a number of steps will be taken to solve the problem.

The head of the region said that he intends to visit Turkey on April 13-14 as part of the the foreign relations development program, and negotiate the foundation of a fabrics distribution center in the Penza region, as well as a possible creation of factories.
