Leroy Merlin shopping center scheduled to open in Penza by year’s end

Penza, 17 June 2015. PenzaNews. The construction of the new Leroy Merlin shopping center that recently went underway in Arbekovo neighborhood of Penza is scheduled to be completed in December 2015.

According to its passport, the investor is “Lerua Merlen Vostok,” its general designer is “RuScom Proekt,” its prime contractor is “Monolitstroy-Plus,” and the construction supervision is carried out by “NV Stroydom.”

“Penza is an important keypoint for the company’s chain and a ‘bridge’ to the future centers opening in such cities as Ulyanovsk, Naberezhniye Chelny and Tolyatti,” Galina Panina, public and state relations director of Leroy Merlin, informed PenzaNews agency.

She added that the single-floor hypermarker of over 10,000 sq. meters will offer a large assortment of materials for construction along with home, dacha and garden improvement at affordable prices.

“The future store will host 15 departments, such as ‘Kitchen,’ ‘Plumbing,’ ‘Bathroom Equipment’ and ‘Floor Covers’ that would sell a great variety of laminated flooring, linoleum and hardwood covering,” the speaker clarified.

Galina Panina also said that Leroy Merlin will offer the Penza customers a range of complimentary free-of-charge services, such as paint color matching and glass and wood cutting.

Leroy Merlin (“Lerua Merlen” in Russia) is an international retailer of goods for home, dacha and garden construction and decoration.

The company founded in 1923 in Northern France is currently holds the top position in Europe in sales volumes.

The first Leroy Merlin store in Russia opened the doors to customers in Mytischi city in 2004. Currently, the company owns 36 hypermarkets in 19 Russian cities and employs the staff of over 15,000 people.
