Penza archeologists find ancient grave with weapons, household items

Penza, 29 August 2015. PenzaNews. A burial site of a young man dated 2nd century AD was excavated by the archelogists on the outskirts of Razhki village in the Nizhny Lomov area of the Penza region.

“This discovery is unique as the grave contains an iron axe and a knife, a throwing dart head, and a ceramic jar,” Oleg Yagov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, dean of the History and Language Studies faculty, wrote in his Facebook page.

Men’s graves in this archeological excavation area are very rarely accompanied by any weapons or household items, he pointed out.
