Penza, 1 September 2015. PenzaNews. The English language club based in the foreign language department of the Penza Lermontov regional library resumes operations after the summer holiday.

The first meeting of the club this autumn is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, when a group of like-minded people interested in colloquial English will meet to hone their speaking skills in a friendly and informal environment.

The upcoming meeting will be dedicated to travels and summer impressions, the club chairman Danila Evstifeev told PenzaNews agency.

“But we will not end just at that. We do not teach: we get together as friends for a cup of tea and discuss fresh news, books and films, cultural events in the city and our lives – all in English,” the speaker stressed.

Since the opening of the club in 1985 by Victor Vavilov, renowned Penza television host and TV personality, its sessions are frequently marked by visits of guests from abroad, he added.

“For example, professor Rhea Ashmore from the Montana University in the US paid us a visit in late April this year. She told us about her hometown and described her vivid and positive first impressions of Penza and the locals,” Danila Evstifeev described.

The upcoming club meeting will take place at 16.00, he noted.

“We welcome everybody interested to come visit us this Saturday on Belinskovo street, 10, not too far from the Pervoposelenets monument [Monument to the First Settler],” the English language club chairman added.
