Penza, 24 January 2016. PenzaNews. The Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov and the master of sports in balloon piloting Ivan Menyaylo, are attempting to set a new world record in flying a 3,950 cubic meters hot air balloon. Reportedly, they will be able to land in the Penza region or Mordovia.

The hot air balloon will take off the Sonino airport in the Tula region at 7.55 of Sunday, January 24, says the message published on Fyodor Konyukhov’s official website.

The pilots will have to spend over 20 hours in a small gondola with almost no movement, and to complete their record-setting flight under freezing cold with almost no wind.

The coordinates of the flight are being broadcasted online.

If the balloon spends in air more than 30 hours, the two hot air balloon pilots will beat the record set by William Bussey (US) in 1993.

In March 2015, the adventurers set for themselves a goal to stay afloat in AX-9 hot air balloon of 3,950 cubic meters for over 17 hours. As a result, they beat the Russian record: Fyodor Konyukhov and Ivan Menyaylo successfully landed in the Ivanovo region, 19 hours and 10 minutes after the takeoff.
