Ivan Belozertsev: No cheapening out on social obligations

Penza, 4 February 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza region social obligation spending will not be cut in 2016, in spite of the uneasy economy, announced the governor Ivan Belozertsev during the grand press conference on Thursday, February 4.

The budget received 12% more tax revenues in January compared to the plan, mostly thanks to excise duties, he added.

However, as the governor explained, the region badly needs more budget funds.

“There is some worry, but I know one thing: we will not be cheapening out on the social field,” the head of the region stressed.

Ivan Belozertsev explained that the region will not be axing any of the social projects that had been approved for the current year.

“We need to fulfill all social programs. We need to support the pensioners, the poor families, the people in need,”the governor said.
