Penza, 5 February 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza regional court upheld the verdict of the Zarechny city court issued on 25 December 2015, which partially supported the demands of a local woman who had been bitten by a dog owned by a different person.

“In her claim, the woman said that she had been walking her dog in the evening of 23 May 2015. When she was walking past one of the apartment buildings, a dog owned by another person attacked her and bit her in the right thigh and bit her terrier as well. When she asked the dog’s owner about its vaccinations, the owner did not react to her questions, took the dog and left,” Natalya Bychenkova, press secretary of the Penza region court, told PenzaNews agency.

The woman’s injuries were classified as light damages to her health, she explained.

“The woman asked to fine the defendant 4,465 rubles of material damages, and 38,000 rubles as compensation for moral damages,” the press secretary said.

As a result, the court fined the defendant 4,455 rubles and 20,000 rubles respectively, Natalya Bychenkova clarified.

“He disagreed with the solution and appealed it, but his appeal was dismissed. The sentence has entered into force,” she concluded.
