According to Pavel Polosin, editor-in-chief of PenzaNews agency, the redesigned layout with emphasis on certain elements makes it easier for the readers to encompass more information that previously could have been left unnoticed.
“As of now, the first thing you see when you go to our homepage is the news picture of the day. I mean it when I say ‘see,’ as the most important news gather attention thanks to photos. The sections of our website, which also increased in number compared to the previous version of the website, will also help users find their way around the news. In particular, we now have such news sections as Education, Medicine and Religion. Moreover, another new feature [available on the Russian version of the website] is the list of key topics under the main menu, such as Growing Communal Fees, Road Repairs and more – these are the topics currently in the spotlight of the authoritity, the society and the media,” he explained.
Also, the head of the editorial staff added that the latest headlines are still available in the left-side column of the website, next to opinions of state officials, politicians and public persons on different subjects that a wide variety of readers may find interesting.
“The special point of pride for PenzaNews is our collection of photo slideshows, which can be considered a chronicle of Penza and the Penza region in pictures, a result of five years of meticulous work of our editorial office. As of now, you can see our latest photoshoots on our photo wall – in a separate section on the homepage. Our photo archive – the history of the region in persons – has now taken a convenient form. In addition, speaking of persons, we also have a new section of Biographies [available on the Russian version of the website], and we are still working on it,” Pavel Polosin pointed out.
Describing other new additions, he mentioned that now visitors of the PenzaNews website can learn more about the notable events and observances of the day, the news of the current date in the past year, today’s birthdays, and quotations of renown personalities of the region on different topics.
“Our skilled team of goal-oriented newswriters is working daily to provide fresh and high-quality content to all who need it. We are not chasing sensational news and sub-truths, not attracting new readers with garish designs, dubious news topics, explicit photos or videos. We do our work so that any user, regardless of the time they visit www.penzanews.ru, would get only accurate, impartial and timely information about the events in Penza and the Penza region. In a nutshell, we are simply doing our job since 2007, and, judging by our growing audience, our readers like it. Thank you for being with us!” the PenzaNews editor-in-chief addressed the website audience.
