Around 6,000 people to participate in Penza “Immortal Regiment” campaign

Penza, 12 April 2016. PenzaNews. Around 6,000 people reportedly will take part in the “Immortal Regiment” campaign that will take place in Penza on May 9, Victory Day, announced Vera Feygina, head of the city Department of Culture, during the weekly city hall session on Tuesday, April 12.

“This year, we expect a large number of participants, reportedly around 6,000 people. The regiment will arrange on Kommunisticheskaya street, march along Pobedy prospekt to the bend by the ‘Buratino’ store, and circle around the Military and Labor Valor Monument itself. [...] When the Immortal Regiment will be circling the monument, they will assemble a composition ‘40 Cranes’ by its foot,” she said.
Also, the head of the city Department of Culture reminded that a similar campaign “Star of Memory” took place on February 29 in Penza, followed by weekly guided tours for school students to the five city monuments dedicated to the Great Victory.
