Penza, 24 April 2016. PenzaNews. The photo exhibition “Athos Eternal” dedicated to one thousand years of Russian monastic tradition on holy Mount Ethos has opened at the house of arts in Bessonovka village of the Penza region.

The official opening of the exhibition on Saturday, April 23, involved the Archbishop Serafim of Penza and Nizhny Novgorod.

He addressed the students from middle- and senior-level classes of Bessonovka area schools, who assembled at the event, with a welcoming word.

The archbishop told the children about the holy mountain, and described his impressions after visiting the monastic republic there.

His story was met with sincere interest by the children, as he was one of the few to see the place often described in the books with his own eyes, says the press service of the Penza diocese.
