Penza, 30 April 2016. PenzaNews. The head of the Penza region EMERCOM head department Sergei Kozlov has congratulated his colleagues with Fire Service Day, a professional holiday celebrated on Saturday, April 30.

During an official event held at “Penza” cinema and concert hall, he expressed his gratitude to the fire service veterans, as well as all rescuers and firemen who are ensuring public safety and protecting citizens’ peace.

The celebration featured an award ceremony for the most distinguished EMERCOM personnel, who received medals and promotions.

The Penza city administration head Sergei Kuvaytsev was among those who congratulated the regional EMERCOM head department personnel with their professional holiday.

“In all ages, working as a fireman was considered to be one of the most risky, yet one of the noblest jobs. Working in extreme conditions requires you to have special skills – quick life-or-death decision-making that affects the livelihood, health and safety of other people. Your mastery, courage, readiness to come for help in a moment’s notice and coordinated rescuing in extreme conditions ensure you respect and recognition by the citizens. I express my great gratitude to the fire service department, to all who perform their duty with dedication by selflessly protecting Penza city and the Penza region from fiery blaze,” he stressed.
