Penza, 16 May 2016. PenzaNews. A total of 47 children under 16 received injuries and 1 died as result of the traffic incidents that occurred in the Penza region in January-April 2016.

The law enforcement registered 43 traffic accidents involving children and teenagers under 16 over the outlined period, the press service of the Penza region traffic police department informed PenzaNews.

“There were 20 traffic accidents involving children as passengers: 23 children received injuries in them. In addition, five incidents related to breaking traffic laws resulted in children under 12 receiving injuries,” they explained.

Moreover, according to the traffic police, 22 incidents resulted in 23 children receiving injuries as pedestrians: one of these occurrences ended up in a death.

“Also, one of the cases resulted in injuries for a child on a bicycle,” the police added.
