Penza, 24 June 2016. PenzaNews. The deputies of the Penza city Duma honored the legacy of the former Penza region governo,r Federation Council member Vasily Bochkarev, with a moment of silence during the 23rd regular meeting session on Friday, June 24.

It was preceded with a speech by the city head Valery Savelyev, who reminded the deputies that the senator passed away after a prolonged illness on Wednesday, June 22.

He also gave a brief listing of Vasily Bochkarev’s awards and most notable achievements.

As PenzaNews reported earlier, Vasily Bochkarev’s funeral visitation will be held at 10.00-13.00 at “Penza” cinema and concert hall.

During the aforementioned hours, Suvorova street will be closed for traffic, including public transportation.

Car drivers are recommended to reschedule trips to the city center or to the Novo-Zapadnoye cemetery to avoid getting into traffic jams due to the funeral procession for the former head of the region.

Reportedly, the funeral visitation will be attended by the ex-governor’s allies throughout the decades, as well as high-ranking officials from other regions.
